“And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. … And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.” Acts 6:8,10
Stephen who was one of the seven chosen to serve tables was “full of faith and power”. “Faith” goes with “power”. Where there is faith, there is power.
“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.” Heb 10:12-13
The scripture says that Christ has finished His work. He has paid the price for redemption; He completed what He came to do. The devil is a defeated foe. But when you look all around you today, what do you see?
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Eph 2:10
Every person is called. Every person has a special gift – a special contribution to God’s house. What is your gift? What is your function? What is your destiny? God has already prepared the works for you to do.
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Cor 6:14
Light and darkness are ultimate opposites, they cannot coexist. When light comes then darkness must go. The two cannot exist together. So it is in a spiritual sense, the Spirit of God and the spirit of this world are two opposite life forms. They are antagonistic and at war with each other.
“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:15-16
Why are you still living on this earth? What is the purpose of your being here? Your calling in life is not just to escape hell and make it to heaven. If that were the case, it means that God would take your life the moment you became born again.
